NAVRATRI 2023- WHEN IS NAVAMI AND ASHTAMI PUJAN?

Navratri is almost over and today Durga Ashtami is being celebrated. Navratri is considered to be the most auspicious and holy day for the worship of Goddess Durga. Devotees worship the nine forms of Goddess Durga in different ways. Some people organize Havan while some devotees organize Kirtan or Jagran. The Navratri that falls in the month of Chaitra is known as Chaitra Navratri.

Chaitra Navratri 2023 Maha Ashtami & Maha Navami Date: Navratri started from Wednesday, 22 March 2023. All the nine days of this festival are considered holy and auspicious.

During Chaitra Navratri, the nine incarnations of Goddess Durga Shailputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandamata, Katyayani, Kalaratri, Mahagauri and Siddhidatri are worshiped by Hindus across the country on each day of the festival.

NAVRATRI

When Is Maha Navami of Chaitra Navratri 2023?

Navami or Durga Navami or Mahanavami is celebrated on the ninth and last day of Navratri. On the occasion of Mahanavami, Maa Durga is worshiped in the form of Mahishasura Mardini. According to Hindus, Goddess Durga killed the demon Mahishasura on Mahanavami, hence the festival holds great significance.

This year Mahanavami 2023 will be celebrated on Thursday, 30 March. Ram Navami or the birth anniversary of Lord Ram will also be celebrated on 30 March 2023.
