  • The theory associated with the origin of Valentine's Day is that the Roman Emperor Claudius II was trying to strengthen his army and he was afraid that if the soldiers get married then they would more focus on their wives and for this reason he forbade marriage for his soldiers. But St. Valentine did not follow his orders and performed secret marriages for many couples. For his disobedience, he was arrested and killed on February 14.
  •  In 1868, Richard Cadbury from Cadbury chocolates family gave heart-shaped chocolates to his beloved and since then Chocolates and Valentine’s Day go together.
  • Valentine’s Day is the second largest card sending occasion, approx 1 billion cards are exchanged every year.
