Islamic New Year: The Islamic New Year begins in the second week of August. It will mark the beginning of the Islamic lunar calendar.
Islamic New Year, is also called the Hijri New Year, this day marks the start of the new Islamic lunar calendar. The Islamic calendar has 12 months and 354 or 355 days, which is about 11 days shorter than the Gregorian calendar. It starts with Muharram, the second devotional month after Ramadan, and ends with the Dhul al-Hijjah. This year 2021, the new year will start in the second week of the August.
The Islamic calendar is based on a lunar cycle, not same as the Gregorian calendar. The month lasts for 29 or 30 days on this calendar, depending on the sighting of the moon. The new month begins when the new crescent is sighted on the twenty-ninth day of the current month. If the 29th is not seen, the current month completes 30 days and the new month begins the next day. All religious celebrations, such as the fast of Ramadan, Eid Al-Fitr, Hajj pilgrimage, and the dates of important events, are calculated according to the Islamic calendar.

August 9 is the 29th of Dhul Qadah, known as the last month of the Islamic calendar, in India. Muharram will start from August 10, in India and other parts of the world, if the full moon is seen on August 9. However, if it is not seen on August 9, Muharram will start from August 11.

The Hijri year or Islamic New Year began with the emigration of Prophet Muhammad and his partners from Mecca to Medina in 622 AD.
The next new year will be called as Hijri 1443 AH (Anno Hegirae in Latin). This means that 1443 years have passed since the migration of the Prophet Muhammad.
To celebrate the Islamic New Year, no major celebrations are held in most Muslim-majority countries. Many declare the holiday to mark the occasion, such as the United Arab Emirates and the Saudi Arabia.

He died on the 10th of Muharram, known as Ashoura. The misery begins on the first day of the month of Muharram and lasts for ten nights.
