Every month, the full moon known as Purnima occurs, and those who follow a fast on this day are said to be blessed and enter into salvation. By taking a bath in the Ganga river, one can wash away the sins committed in a previous life.
In addition to this Purnima, each months' Purnima celebrations have their own unique importance. Let's look at the significance of each Purnima vrat individually:
Paush Purnima 2022 - On the day of Paush Purnima, it is customary to fast and take a bath in the Ganges River, which is said to cleanse one of all sins and grant one's wishes with the help of the gods. January is often when Paush Purnima occurs.
Magha Purnima 2022 - On the day of Magha Purnima, those desiring tranquilly and mental purity should observe a fast and take a holy bath in either the Ganges or the Yamuna rivers. On this day, blessings obtained through charitable effort are considered to be equivalent to those obtained through Maha Yagya. February is often when Magha Purnima occurs.
Phalguna Purnima 2022 - It is firmly considered that by keeping a fast on this day, worshippers will receive the divine blessings of Lord Vishnu and all of their wishes will come true. Goddess Lakshmi is thought to have been born on Phalguna Purnima, during the mighty Samudra Manthan. Typically, Phalguna Purnima takes place in March.
Chaitra Purnima 2022 - When a person observes a fast on the day of Chaitra Purnima, all barriers to achieving health, riches, and success are removed from their life. It aids in banishing negative karma. Typically, Chaitra Purnima takes place in April.

On this day, prayers are offered to Lord Chitragupta, a companion of Yama Raj, to ward off evil karma that causes premature death. The Hindu holiday of Vaishakha Purnima usually falls in May.
Jyeshtha Purnima 2022 - Married women typically observe a fast on this day since it is believed to give their husbands long lives. Also, other aspirations and wishes of women who take a dip in the Ganga river on this day are also realized. June is often when Jyeshtha Purnima occurs.
Ashadha Purnima 2022 - It's a particularly favorable day, and by fasting on it, one can obtain all the money, success, and happiness he has ever yearned for. Typically, Ashadha Purnima falls in the month of July.
Shravan Purnima 2022 – Raksha Bandhan is a festival that is observed on the day of Shravana (Sawan) Purnima. On this day, worshippers present Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu, Goddess Laksmi, and Lord Hanuman with sacred thread (raksha sutra) and ask the Gods to shield them from any harm. Moreover, sisters bind rakhi to their brothers, who make a commitment to protect them from the world's evils. Typically, Shravana Purnima occurs in August.
Bhadrapada Purnima 2022 - Devotees conduct a fast on this day in order to atone for their misdeeds from a former life. The day following Bhadrapada Purnima is the start of Pitru Paksha Shraddha. This day is open to all kinds of celebrations and rituals. On Kartika Purnima, Dev Deepawali, the festival of the gods' lights, is also observed. Typically, Kartika Purnima occurs in November.
